Executive Talent Solutions are working with a fast growing Food FMCG business to recruit an experienced Product Technologist.

The business supports many of the UKs leading supermarkets with both branded and private label food products and has been enjoying significant growth. They have ambitious plans for the next 5 years and a looking to recruit an experienced Product Technologist to support their launch of new products and acquisition of new customers.

The successful Product Technologist will work in the London office (near Holborn) and report to the Quality Team based in Italy. A salary between ÂŁ40,000 and ÂŁ50,000 plus amazing benefits is offered. Hybrid working is available (Mon and Fri WFH; Tues, Weds and Thurs in the office).

Key Responsibilities:• Liaising with the broader Italy based quality team to understand customer technical, ethical andsustainability requirements to provide the best-in-class service to its UKcustomers.• Working closely with the UK commercial and supply chain teams to ensure products andsuppliers meet or exceed customer standards.• Be the key interface between Italy technical team and UK customers• Working closely with key customers technical team (Sainsburys and Tesco) to provide product quality andsupplier assurance that meets the customer expectations.• Be recognised as the expert in UK customer standards and provide guidance and training colleagues• Provide support to customers on relevant food safety matters that may affect their productsand provide the broader group with relevant information on regulatory, food import and technical standards that are specific to the UK market. • Completion of specifications in line with internal and external customer expectations in terms ofaccuracy and content, proactively sourcing necessary information.• Reviewing supplier product specifications in correlation with updated customer requirements.• Ensuring and managing the compliance, safety and quality of all products.• Manufacturer audits and customer visits

Necessary Skills & Experience:• Understanding of Sainsburys and/or Tesco technical and ethical standards and ways of workingwould be essential.• Food technology (or related) qualification with a background in food technology preferred• Experience of BRC Food standards, IFS Food standard, HACCP and food safety and supplier auditexperience. Understanding of SEDEX and Ethical compliance would be an advantage• Good knowledge and understanding of food legislation• Excellent knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality, food formulationand ingredient interactions.• Expertise in working with retailer specification systems• Knowledge and understanding of the own / private label market
