Mechanical Plant Maintenance Fitter

Summary:

We are seeking a Mechanical Plant Fitter to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in both reactive and planned maintenance, with specific experience working with heavy plant machinery. The role will mostly involve maintaining CNC Machines and overhead cranes.

Familiarity with CNC machinery controls, particularly Heidenhain and Fanuc, is beneficial for fault finding purposes. You should also be able to use programmable logic controls for fault finding.

A strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including schematic interpretation, is essential.

MEWP certification would be helpful but this can be trained.

Skills:

  1. Reactive and planned maintenance experience
  2. Familiarity with heavy plant machinery
  3. Knowledge of CNC machinery controls (this depot use Heidenhain and Fanuc)
  4. Understanding of hydraulic systems and schematics
  5. Understanding of pneumatic systems and schematics
  6. Versatility in maintaining various plant equipment
  7. Strong problem-solving abilities
  8. Good communication and interpersonal skills
  9. MEWP certification (can be trained if necessary).

Software/Tools:

  • PLC
  • Heidenhain and/or fanuc would be beneficial.

Certifications & Standards:

  • Mechanical qualification, level 3 or equivanlent.
