Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and manage new and renewal cargo business, ensuring compliance with company policies and risk appetite
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to secure new opportunities and drive business growth
  • Analyse risks, prepare quotations, and negotiate terms and conditions to achieve profitable results
  • Monitor and review existing accounts, providing technical support and guidance where needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as claims, actuarial, and risk management, to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Attend market events and client meetings to promote the company’s cargo offering and build a network within the industry
  • Support junior team members and assist in their professional development

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in cargo underwriting, with a strong understanding of the marine insurance market
  • Relevant qualifications (ACII or working towards it preferred)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on detail and the ability to assess complex risks
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
