IDEX Consulting has been exclusively retained to lead the search for a Senior Underwriter to join a highly regarded insurance provider based in London. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation that is known for its technical excellence, stability, and commitment to delivering tailored insurance solutions.

The RoleYou'll be a key member of the underwriting team with responsibility across Property and Liability lines of business. This is a technically engaging role where you'll be trusted to make informed decisions, contribute to strategy, and work across the business to deliver high levels of service to a diverse portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Underwriting Property and Liability risks with a focus on complex, bespoke solutions.
  • Working cross-functionally with internal teams such as Claims and Relationship Management to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of underwriting strategy.
  • Preparing tender documentation and quotations to support new business opportunities.
  • Monitoring the performance and value of service providers to ensure continued high standards.
  • Coordinating renewal information and liaising with insurers/reinsurers.
  • Supporting risk aggregation reviews and participating in scenario analysis.
  • Assisting with thought leadership and content creation for bulletins, newsletters, and digital platforms.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in Property and Liability underwriting.
  • Proven technical expertise and a strong understanding of risk.
  • An insurance qualification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to represent the organisation externally.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
