Claims Adjuster - US General Liability (3 Month Contract)

We are currently recruiting for a Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, one of the leading Lloyd's Syndicates in the London Market.

The successful candidate will predominantly handle claims generated from the Casualty account, with a focus on General Liability claims, but will also potentially be involved in D&O claims.

This is a 3 month contract with the possibility of an extension. We are able to offer the flexibility of either a salaried fixed term contract directly employed by our client, or a day rate contract employed under our umbrella (inside IR35).

Our client offers hybrid and flexible working options, with the opportunity to work 1-2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively handling a portfolio of US General Liability Claims from first advice to settlement across both Open Market and Binding Authority placements.
  • Working under the direction and supervision of the Casualty Claims Manager, assisting with all aspects of Casualty Claims adjustment and associated administration reporting as needed.
  • Interacting with key internal and external stakeholders on claims related matters.
  • Servicing brokers and clients, providing prompt and efficient claim resolution, within clearly defined authority limits.
  • Appointing and managing experts to assist in claim investigation and resolution as needed.
  • Assisting in the monitoring of key risk claims and trends by collating data and reports.
  • Assisting in providing regular feedback to senior management and Underwriters.
  • Contributing to the strategy for the London Markets Claims Team and ensuring its successful delivery.
  • Helping to maintain strong relationships with the London Market Underwriters.

Key Requirements

  • 3-5 years of US focused General Liability claims experience, with knowledge of how to use ECF and/or Sequel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good mathematical skills and report writing capability.
