  • The role also involves mentoring junior associates and contributing to business development opportunities within the Claims consulting services.
Please note this role can be based in either Reigate or London and will require flexibility from the successful candidate to travel between these locations as well as travelling to client's offices if necessary.We are looking for a Claims Consultant, with experience in the UK general insurance market, to join WTW in our Claims Consulting Practice which is part of our Insurance Consulting and Technology business to help us develop and deliver our Claims advisory and technology services. You will work beside some of the market’s top thought people designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions to challenges faced by the world’s top general insurers and intermediaries.In your role, you will be helping our broad set of claims clients by:
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic and tactical claims advisory work across their operational, technical and technological needs. 
  • Delivering projects to advance and transform their Claims operations through the use of analytics, including implementing data science capabilities to provide real-time decision support and automation in the claims process. 
  • Leveraging Claims insights to benefit pricing, underwriting and reserving teams and help gain a competitive advantage. 
  • Supporting the development and delivery of our Claims consulting and technology propositions. 
  • Delivering strategic and tactical advisory projects to meet our clients’ wide needs, ranging from developing claims strategy to operational and technical assessments to investigating the root cause of an issue. Including overseeing analysis, producing recommendations and writing senior level reports. 
  • Operating as part of, and in some cases leading, a multidisciplinary consulting team, to support our client in the deployment of advanced analytics and analytical software to help them transform their claims processing. 
  • Responding to RFI/RFP’s, creating tailored and compelling proposals aligned with our client’s individual needs and presenting in pitches to senior/C-Suite level clients, demonstrating the economic value of the company’s offerings
  • Applying Claims technical, operational, and strategic subject matter expertise to deliver best-in-class advice and consulting services. 
  • Effectively administering projects and tasks to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Seek to be involved in a variety of work to ensure a broad skill set (technical, management and client) is maintained and developed
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate commitment to Willis Towers Watson professional standards in product outputs and in communications with clients
  • Meeting goals for sales and intellectual capital development
  • Participate in client relationship management to build a market network or relationships
  • Build a market profile as a representative and advocate of WTW’s Claims consulting services and technology solutions, helping to support business development opportunities.
  • Serve as line manager or mentor to more junior associates
The Requirements
  • Proven track record of success operating within the insurance industry or with a large consultancy. 
  • General Insurance and Claims experience in at least one non-life product with experience across multiple products/classes an advantage 
  • Operated in Claims in one or more of the following disciplines: strategic; technical; operational; analytical; and/or technological.
  • Worked as part of a project team delivering notable process or technology change in either a subject matter expert, project management or advisory capacity. 
  • A general understanding of data and advanced analytics and the opportunities for leveraging these capabilities within Claims operations.
  • Worked in cross-functional teams, delivering targeted outcomes, and communicating with and managing senior stakeholders. 
  • A track record in innovation and creativity delivering improved business outcomes 
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Demonstrates a proactive mindset and a solution-oriented approach, eager to tackle challenges with enthusiasm and determination.
  • Drive for continuous learning and ability to understand and utilize technology
  • Creates and delivers high-quality reports and presentation materials
  • The ability to see the "big picture”, leveraging the resources of related practices to address clients’ business challenges
  • Availability to travel on an as-needed basis, domestically and internationally
