Our client is looking for a Marine Claims Specialist to join the team to focus on the handling of Marine Cargo / Liability Claims for the UK & Ireland. The role will include;
- Professional handling of Marine Cargo / Liability claims, resulting in customer satisfaction, customer retention, avoidance of litigation, avoidance of unjustified claims payment / commercial settlements.
- Accurate financial and administrative management of Marine Cargo and Marine Liability claims through Claims Management System, including effective e-filing system.
- Provide transparency in claim statistics through reporting to the national and regional management on monthly or quarterly basis.
- Active recoveries against subcontractors, positively affecting the business and loss records under the Marine Liability Insurance policy.
- Ensure that all claims are handled and processed in line with the Claims Centre operating procedures.
- Assist with effective branch trainings on Claims Handling Procedures and Transport Law
- To provide day to day support to staff on claims related matters.
- Highlight importance of cargo insurance as risk transfer vehicle during claims reports/branch trainings
To be considered for this role you must have a technical background from handling Marine Liability claims from either an insurer / adjusting / legal firm. Knowledge of Freight Forwarding is essential as is the ability to build a rapport with insurers, solicitors and surveyors. You will be playing a vital part within the claims department joining this close-knit claims team…. You will be able to work a mix of both home and office working.
