Role Summary

An excellent newly created Senior Claims Data Specialist role for a highly regarded Lloyd's Syndicate. Reporting into the Claims Leadership team, the business is looking for a passionate claims data specialist to develop a data driven story line and engage with stakeholders to help influence the direction of the business and drive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working cross-functionally to gather both data and non-data inputs, in order to derive actionable and meaningful insights.
  • Performing deep dive analysis in areas where initial data may suggest frequency, severity, or development opportunities.
  • Developing Portfolio and Customer data improvements.
  • Developing materials for use by the Claims Leadership Team that communicate the results of analysis related to portfolio performance and opportunities necessary to maintain or improve performance.
  • Designing and maintaining data reporting for governance controls.
  • Preparing the Claims Leadership Team for Reserve Committees and Portfolio Management Reviews.
  • Preparing presentations for the Claims Executives for Pre-Board / Board meetings as necessary.
  • Presenting information to the senior leadership team, along with observations, areas of concern, and recommendations.
  • Analysing the performance of outsourced arrangements, including TPAs, experts and DXC.
  • Providing insights into key/large account data, CAT and Systemic claims reporting.
  • Meeting all reporting/governance requirements, including Lloyd's Minimum Standards, Conduct Risk, and Solvency II.
  • Process improvements, including supporting claims systems development.
  • Developing and maintaining resource and triage modelling.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience within a similar role is essential.
  • An understanding of claims case reserving practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • The following skills are preferred, but not essential - Basic SQL query writing; Creating reports in Business Objects, Tableau, or similar tools; Excellent Excel skills.
