Accountancy Officer

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountancy Officer to join a small team responsible for Rent Support services. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions related to tenancy accounts, including setting up tenancy starts, processing refunds, arranging balance transfers, and managing claims for compensation or charges. You will also liaise with insurance brokers regarding tenants' contents insurance, resolve queries, and provide accurate information on applications and claims.

As part of this role, you will regularly interact with residents, handling queries via phone, email, and post regarding their rent accounts. You will also work closely with internal teams, ensuring accurate processing of financial information, identifying and addressing gaps in data, and maintaining up-to-date records. Strong communication skills are key, as you will need to explain financial information clearly to both residents and colleagues.

This is a fast-paced position that requires a strong understanding of financial processes, IT literacy, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team. Experience with Northgate or similar financial systems is highly desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate. You should be confident in handling financial data, proficient in spreadsheet management, and comfortable managing multiple tasks on a rota basis while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

The role offers an agile working environment, with the team working remotely. You will report to the Heat Metering Project Manager and the Charges Controller on an interim basis.
