You will be working for a boutique growing Lloyd's Broker specialising in Marine Insurance business, with offices around the world. The business is multi-cultural and due to the expansion, there will be an office move in Autumn 2024 to a location nearby to the current address. They are fully service oriented, and they serve their customers with all their knowledge and passion. They can service any marine coverage, but most clients are Hull & Machinery/Increased Value/Freight Interest, P&I, War Risks, Kidnap & Ransom, Yachts. They place business produced from their other offices alongside working directly with clients and other producing players. They see a very wide variety of accounts and have vast experience in dealing with all types of tonnage, records, clients and trading. Due to expansion in the Marine team, a position for a Premium Processing Technician has arisen.
Your new role
Your new job working as a Marine Premium Processing Technician means you will calculate premiums and processing entries onto the inhouse broking system. Duties will include lineslip bordereaux production and closing, review and process line-slip declarations as needed, produce debit/credit notes and closings for underwriters, utilise Xchanging daily, produce LPANs, and handle bureau submissions competently. Further duties include liaising with the bureau to resolve any arising queries, building and maintaining relationships within the team, brokers, and colleagues abroad to resolve processing issues, manage personal workflows, maintain an organized working environment including personal desk space and WIP piles. Other duties include keeping required records, reports, and files organized and accessible for management, handle ad hoc inquiries and perform general administrative tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as a Premium Processing Technician in any class of business and proven experience working for the London Insurance Market will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have strong computer skills including all Microsoft products, and organisational skills. You will have an ability to prioritise workflow and manage internal and external stakeholder expectations, ability to understand and execute both verbal and written instructions and an ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, colleagues, insurers and other associates.
