Hybrid Legal Revenue Controller - Billing Controller

Our client, one of the largest and most successful barristers’ chambers in London, has an exciting permanent job opportunity available for an experienced Revenue / Billing Controller. The main purpose of this role is prepare accurate bills for the Crime Practice Team within strict deadlines,

The successful candidate will work with the Barristers and Heads of Revenue to implement changes to existing working practices and initiate improvements in the use of the Case Management software, to encourage prompt billing and improve billing procedures.

Duties include:

  • Efficient and accurate billing, maximising claim levels and turnaround times
  • Resolving queries in a timely and profession manner
  • Appealing assessments and incorrect decisions
  • Advising barristers on the most effective and efficient billing methods
  • Highlighting potential problem areas to Head of Revenue
  • Identifying areas for continuous improvement in the billing process
  • Participating in departmental meetings and contributing new initiatives
  • Supporting the Credit Controllers on an adhoc basis

Person Specification:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must be confident in making telephone calls
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assimilate information
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to develop new skills
  • A calm, patient approach to work in a very busy environment
  • Professional attitude with good client relationship building skills
