Ryder Reid Legal is recruiting for a Billing Operations Specialist to join one of our prestigious, global law firm clients on a permanent basis at their London office. This role will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient billing services and procedures are in place to ensure accurate and timely billing, while maintaining strong relationships with the Conflicts and Billing Compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Pricing and Project Management to manage the outside counsel guideline process.
  • Develop and maintain an in-house counsel guidelines database for the Billing team's reference.
  • Support the development of compliance-focused trainings and training materials.
  • Partner in overseeing compliance-related projects to implement process improvements.
  • Maintain processes for compliance with all agreed-upon client requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing and revising firm rules and policies affecting onboarding of new clients, matters, billing, and collections.
  • Collaborate with the Conflicts department to ensure proper matter setup.
  • Support the onboarding processes of new clients and personnel.
  • Help manage system maintenance for necessary changes, including RES credit changes.
  • Assist in overseeing client/matter opening and closing processes.
  • Partner with management in overseeing the Client Accounting email inbox.
  • Provide support to attorneys to ensure compliance with high-profile clients.
  • Oversee and maintain the Tech Deferral programme.
  • Support the Billing Compliance team, including employee development and training.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in a professional services billing environment, preferably in a law firm.
  • Expertise in supporting billing and collections staff and creating compliance policies.
  • Experience in reviewing and editing legal invoices for compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Aderant Expert, with strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of tax requirements for Europe & Asia and accounting regulations for solicitors & law firms.
