Job Title: Billing Specialist

Ryder Reid Legal is recruiting for a dedicated Billing Specialist to join the dynamic team of one of our prestigious, international law firm clients on a permanent, hybrid working basis at their London office. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of drafting and finalizing client bills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with our procedures and guidelines. Please see more details below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing Expertise: Utilize our advanced billing systems and tools to manage client billing efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Client Service Lawyers (CSLs) to ensure timely billing and collections.
  • Accuracy: Maintain precise descriptions of client billing requirements and review time/expense entries for correctness.
  • Prebill Management: Generate and distribute prebills for review, incorporating edits to prepare final bills.
  • Compliance: Ensure all billing complies with Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs).
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to facilitate billing submissions and collections, with CSL approval.
  • Reporting: Prepare ad hoc reports for billing lawyers and clients as needed.
  • eBilling: Maintain knowledge of Electronic Billing vendors and work with the eBilling Team to submit invoices and monitor their status.
  • Pipeline Monitoring: Continuously monitor unbilled amounts and accounts receivable, discussing with CSLs and updating the Pipeline Control System.

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective teamwork and relationship-building skills within the department and with external clients and vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in Legal or Professional Services Billing; Aderant legal billing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
