Ryder Reid Legal is currently seeking a Billing Supervisor to join one of our prestigious, international law firm clients on a permanent basis at their London office. This role will oversee and manage the daily activities of a team of Billing Coordinators, ensuring accurate and timely work. This role also involves performing Billing Coordinator duties for assigned partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train a team of Billing Coordinators.
  • Manage day-to-day activities, assign tasks, and oversee processes.
  • Participate in staff performance evaluations and administer disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Review and maintain client fee structures and special billing requests.
  • Draft and finalise bills, ensuring compliance with VAT and firm policies.
  • Act as a resource for complex billing questions and discrepancies.
  • Attend partner meetings to discuss outstanding invoices and collection strategies.
  • Review and update comments for reports distributed to the Finance Committee and Partners.
  • Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss billing issues.
  • Generate and analyse monthly, quarterly, and yearly data reports.
  • Conduct regular reviews of Work In Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Lead special projects as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years in a large law firm, including exposure to VAT and disbursements.
  • Ability to track, measure, and manage performance.
  • Effective coaching, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied work situations and hours.
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Experience with billing in foreign currencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • High proficiency with Elite 3E.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
