Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing portfolios, performing intricate underwriting tasks, marketing to brokers, and supporting your team in achieving their business plan. You will be expected to act as a technical expert within your area of expertise while fostering strong relationships with various stakeholders. Your ability to underwrite complex insurance risks will be crucial in meeting our business objectives. Furthermore, your role will extend beyond individual tasks as you manage, support, and develop colleagues within your department.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the business plan for the portfolio
  • Perform complex underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Establish, develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues
  • Underwrite complex insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and the delegated underwriting authority
  • Contribute to the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress towards business objectives
  • Manage, support and/or develop colleagues within department to ensure the required standards of performance are met

What you bring:The ideal candidate for this Senior Underwriter position brings extensive experience from an underwriting environment within a specialised or complex area. You hold specific professional qualifications such as CII and have significant post-qualification work experience within class of business. Your proficiency in using risk profiling and pricing tools along with loss models sets you apart. You have established strong customer/broker relationships over time and have experience managing underwriting teams. Your interpersonal skills are exceptional which allows you to communicate effectively and collaborate well within a team setting.
