I am currently recruiting for a leading Syndicate who are seeking an Underwriting Controls professional to head up their Underwriting Governance function.

This position will be working closely with the Underwriters and will assist with the continuous improvement of the Underwriting Controls Framework, the timely and accurate production of reporting, and supporting initiatives to improve the quality of data within the Underwriting Systems. Lloyd's experience in a UWing/Governance/Risk role is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining a set of exception reports to ensure all risks underwritten align with the Syndicate Business Plan.
  • Leading continuous process improvements and providing support across various large-scale projects within the broader business.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely internal and regulatory reporting, while supporting internal and external peer reviews as needed.
  • Updating and enhancing the Underwriting Policy, Underwriting Authorities, and other key Underwriting Control documents as required by the business.
  • Assisting with initiatives aimed at improving the quality of data captured in the Underwriting Systems.
  • Ensuring Underwriting processes are fully documented and regularly updated for both Lloyd's and Lloyd's Insurance Company (LIC) business.
  • Performing other related duties as reasonably required.
