Furthermore, your negotiation skills will be utilised when dealing with rates/terms and conditions for existing and new business.

  • Contribute to the preparation and implementation of operational team plans
  • Perform underwriting activities in line with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to underwriting standards and good practice to minimise risk
  • Ensure accuracy in recording and measurement of insurance risks
  • Maintain underwriting files in a logical and accessible manner
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues
  • Negotiate rates/terms and conditions for existing and new business
  • Support credit control in payment collection

What you bring:The ideal candidate for the Assistant Underwriter position brings experience from working in an underwriting environment within a specialised/complex area. You have achieved degree level education (or equivalent) and are ACII (or equivalent) qualified or making progress towards completion of insurance qualifications. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills complement your proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel. You demonstrate an ability to manage conflicting priorities to meet deadlines while maintaining a strong customer orientation. Your collaborative nature enables you to work effectively within a team environment.

  • Experience working in an underwriting environment within a specialised/complex underwriting area
  • Degree level education (or equivalent)
  • ACII (or equivalent) qualified or progress towards completion of insurance qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications e.g. Excel
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines
