Underwriter - Bridging Finance
Location: Swiss Cottage, London (Hybrid - 2 days in office)Salary:£45,000 - £60,000Hours: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PMReporting To: Credit Manager
About the RoleOur client, a well-established and growing bridging finance company, is looking for an experienced Underwriter to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working on a range of bridging and short-term lending cases.

Key Responsibilities- Underwrite bridging loan applications within company lending criteria and funding partner guidelines
- Manage a pipeline of cases efficiently, handling high volumes while maintaining top-tier customer service
- Apply commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to mitigate risks where possible
- Prepare detailed Credit Papers, outlining lending decisions and recommendations
- Assess new enquiries, structuring and pricing cases while identifying key conditions
- Oversee loan applications from enquiry to completion in a timely and efficient manner
- Review and prepare loan documentation for third-party stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate risks, including fraud and money laundering concerns
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, valuers, solicitors, and internal teams
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices
- Experience in bridging or short-term lending underwriting
- Strong understanding of compliance, MCOB, and CCA regulations
- Knowledge of fraud prevention measures and risk management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commercially aware with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
