We are seeking an experienced maritime legal professional to join our established family-owned shipping company, managing a fleet of 18 dry bulk vessels operating worldwide. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a autonomous role within a close-knit team..

Position Overview: A part-time position (1-2 days per week) with flexibility for additional hours when required. This role offers the unique opportunity to work directly with vessel owners and senior management, handling all legal, insurance, and claims matters for the fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of all vessel-related claims including cargo, collision, and bunker disputes
  • Handling insurance renewals across P&I, H&M, war risks, and other maritime insurance products
  • Liaison with P&I Clubs and oversight of both P&I and FD&D cover
  • Direct collaboration with vessel owners and senior management
  • Independent management of the legal function within the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • UK-qualified lawyer or Greek lawyer with substantial UK maritime experience
  • Extensive experience in maritime claims and insurance
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining close relationships with stakeholders
