Commercial New Business Property & Casualty Underwriter - London
A Global Insurer with offices across the UK are looking to source an experienced Commercial New Business P&C Underwriter. Â
Key Responsibilities
- Working with key strategic intermediary partners to underwrite new business opportunities in the mid market to mid corporate space.Â
- Operate within your underwriting authority working closely with the Underwriting Manager & Sales Team to deliver exception service to customers and innovative underwriting solutions.
- Support less experienced colleagues to increase their knowledge and experience.
- Comfortable trading face to face with intermediaries or clients.
- Identify and develop a new business pipeline to enable annual targets to be hit by year end.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong trading and relationship management experience.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
- Demonstrated high level of technical expertise in Property and Casualty Underwriting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners at all levels.
- Capacity to work independently.
- Strong ability to identify, analyse and solve problems as well as to learn rapidly, adapt quickly to change, and manage and prioritise multiple concurrent projects.
- Skilled in exercising independent judgment and making critical business decisions effectively.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
