Purpose of Role/Job Overview

To service and provide support for brokers for existing private client business and renewals within own authority and in line with strategy.

Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers.

To positively reinforce and display company values and to actively drive the business forward in achieving its objectives.

Demonstrate your contribution to loss ratio control by effectively adhering to Company's underwriting controls.

Key Accountabilities

Underwriting of new business & renewal risks under a variety of delegated binding authorities.

General administration of the existing book of business - conducting MTA’s, Cancellations, and general referral queries.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key trading partners to maximize influence.

Must understand underwriting within parameters of binders.

Must have knowledge of the M/HNW market.

Support the development and operation of sales campaigns to drive the acquisition of profitable business.

Understands the impact of claims and risk management on the performance of a case and demonstrates an ability to underwrite taking these factors into account.

Other Activities, Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain and develop market awareness.

Maintain good working relationships with all internal departments.

Maintain an open communication ethos with colleagues and managers.

Demonstrate "model behaviours"

Comply with all legal, regulatory and contractual requirements to ensure obligations are met.

Contribute to wider business activities.

Operate within individual underwriting authorities and guidelines.

Desired Skills / Qualifications

Personal Lines Underwriting Knowledge.

Cert CII - Desirable

A collaborative team player who understands that their team’s success is their own success.

Ability to learn and adapt to change.

Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company environment.

Ability to build relationships and develop close rapport with brokers.

Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.

A high level of numeracy, analytical and literacy skills.

Strong organisational and prioritisation skills - good communication skills.
