An FF&E Interior Designer job is now available with a design studio in East London. This is an exciting role, perfect for a multitasker looking to work across a range of aesthetics whilst collaboration with artisans, designing bespoke furniture and overseeing installations UK wide.
This design studio has over ten years of experience working across a variety of projects including small and large scale residential and commercial. Their services include interior design, FF&E, furnishing and procurement for private clients and developers.
They are currently looking for a passionate FF&E Designer who shares their love for innovation and craftsmanship to join their team on a permanent basis. The position will include working on projects from inception to completion, with a core focus on the design, selection and pricing of FF&E, as well as procurement and coordination.
Role & Responsibilities
- Developing detailed designs and working on furniture, lighting and finishes selection
- Working on bespoke designs and producing detailed schedules of all items and finishes
- Managing FF&E CAD plans, working up coordinated plans with RCPs and the Interior Designers GA's and sections
- Taking responsibility for technical drawings in plans and elevations prior to presentations & delivery
- Ensuring that FF&E requirements on all projects are correctly sourced, ordered and delivered on time, on budget and to brief
- Managing projects efficiently, within schedule and budget
- Client liaison including presenting FF&E concepts, providing advice and supporting parties on specification and cost details
- Collaborating, negotiating, coordinating and liaising with suppliers
- Overseeing installation of projects ensuring that all FF&E, accessories and styling requirements are met
- Assisting in styling and supporting professional photography, when required
- Ensure that FF&E library/sample area is managed and maintained.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years post-graduate experience in the residential or hospitality sectors
- A passion for FF&E, design, art and aesthetics, with a good knowledge of suppliers, product and specialist finishes and aware of current design trends
- Excellent presentation skills of both physical and digital mood boards & client presentations
- Ability to manage multiple FF&E projects
- Strong experience in FF&E scheduling, ideally using Estimac
- General knowledge of interior architecture with the ability to read and understand technical drawings, including furniture shop drawings
- Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
- Experience and ability to liaise directly with clients, project consultant teams, suppliers & contractors
- Competent in MS Office, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Suite.
