Pensions Team Leadership - LondonJob Description
We're Norton Rose Fulbright - a global law firm with over 50 offices and 7,000 employees worldwide. We provide the world’s preeminent corporations and financial institutions with a full business law service. At Norton Rose Fulbright, our strategy and our culture are closely entwined. We know that our expansion will mean little unless it is underpinned by truly global collaboration and we understand that pioneering work only takes place when our people have room to move and think beyond boundaries. As well as the relevant skills and experience, we're looking for people who are innovative, commercial and value the work that they do.Â
We are currently recruiting for an Associateto join our small but dynamic Pensions team, which is led by two partners.
The team forms part of the wider London Corporate practice and covers a full range of general pensions advisory work to employers and trustees. The workload includes drafting, governance, investment, buy-in and buy-out work, other types of risk management, master trust advice and pensions litigation. The team also works closely with our international M&A practice on corporate transactions, with our corporate insurance team on insurance and pensions products and with our disputes practice on contentious matters. The role will be a varied one as the team does not encourage individuals to overspecialise. Approximately 25% of the workload is corporate support work and approximately 80% of the workload is stand alone pensions work.
The team is recognised as a leading practice by Legal 500 and Chambers.
The Role
We are currently seeking a junior and a mid-level associate with previous experience of advisory and corporate support to join the practice. Experience of investment work would be an added bonus. The role will provide the opportunity for a bright and dynamic individual to gain access to a wide range of high quality work as well as contribute to the team both technically and in developing the practice.
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (2-4 years)
- Experience of advisory and corporate support work within a recognised pensions practice
- Entrepreneurial attitude
- Driven and ambitious
- Able to demonstrate a high level of technical understanding and skill
- Excellent academics
