I am delighted to be partnered with an excellent London based law firm in their search for a junior legal cashier to join the London finance team. The role reports into an experienced Head cashier and offers excellent career development and training.
Day duties of the role:
- Review and post all bills and credit notes within 24 hours of receipt.
- Perform daily reconciliations for the Office Account and, when necessary, the Client Account in the absence of the Cashier Supervisor.
- Conduct daily reviews of Office and Client accounts online, ensuring accurate postings into 3E.
- Process anticipated disbursement invoices and, if needed, purchase currency from Convera.
- Reconcile the firm's IPO, WIPO, and OHIM accounts.
- Reconcile the firm's credit card account.
- Handle CHAPS payments as required.
- Ensure compliance with SRA Rules, coordinating with other cashiering staff as needed, and promptly report any breaches or potential breaches to the Cashier Manager.
- Respond to queries from partners, fee earners, and legal assistants.
- Provide coverage for the Cashier Manager, Senior Cashier, and Accounts Payable during their annual leave or other absences.
- Transfer time and disbursements between matters.
- Edit time entries as necessary.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required by the Cashier Manager and Financial Controller.
The right candidate will need:

- Operates effectively as part of a team, including providing cover during team absences.

- Prior junior legal experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
