We are recruiting for a Pensions Data Director to join our team who is experienced in understanding the issues our clients face, setting the strategy and plan for resolving those issues and then providing technical guidance and oversight to the team who implement that solution. You will be responsible for the technical review that ensures the accuracy of the results that are sent to the client and lead to member entitlements being corrected and paid. The successful candidate will have an excellent technical knowledge of DB pensions, coupled with strong Excel skills and an ability to communicate complex data correction strategies and issues clearly and concisely. Through your work with us, you will be expected to contribute to the technical development of colleagues within our diverse team. As a data specialist, you can expect to be giving direction and oversight to several client projects at once, providing you with the opportunity for a very varied workday, and ultimately an interesting and fulfilling career with WTW.Experience in pension correction and rectification exercises would be advantageous as well as hands on experience through the lifecycle of data projects, from the upfront auditing and due diligence that is typically completed ahead of cleansing and correcting the data.This role can be based out of our London, Reigate, Bristol, Birmingham. Manchester, Leeds or Edinburgh office working hybrid.The Team: WTW’s Project & Data Solutions team brings depth of experience and flexible resource to deliver the right solutions no matter how complex the requirements or large the defined benefit (DB) pension scheme is. No data project is the same and the team have experience of creating and delivering solutions for wide ranging issues and a varied customer base.Project & Data Solutions delivers the right, cost-effective strategies and solutions for the following:
  • Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP) projects
  • Auditing data, benefits and calculations
  • Bulk data rectification and benefit (re-)construction
  • Data cleansing and improving electronic data

  • Strong knowledge and experience of UK DB Pension arrangements and underlying pensions legislation
  • A proven track record in running multiple concurrent projects and/or work-streams 
  • Used to working in a commercial environment where delivery to deadlines, budget and scope management are important
  • Good understanding of manual benefit calculations and processes
  • Ideally will have experience of creating bulk solutions to correct pensions data or carry out pension scheme calculations
  • Good to have knowledge of GMP projects, both rectification and equalisation
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • A clear, concise and confident communicator of complex or technical issues relating to UK pensions and member data to a broad audience – good at maintaining project documentation and audit trails
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams and enjoys a fast-paced environment
  • An ability to foster and support the delivery of projects within a team environment
  • Inquisitive, self-starter attitude and ability to work using own initiative 
  • Experience of pension administration systems is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of Microsoft SQL is desirable but not essential
  • An actuarial background would be an advantage but not essential
