We are currently looking for a Catering / Food service assistant to join an outstanding school in West London. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and serving of attractive, healthy, and varied meals for students, staff, and visitors, contributing to the school's aims and objectives. This is a temporary position with the aim for the role to go permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Assist cooks/chefs in food preparation and related duties.
- Service: Serve food and beverages professionally and efficiently to staff, pupils, and visitors.
- Events: Assist with service at school functions and events.
- Cleaning: Wash up crockery, cutlery, and utensils; clean catering and dining areas.
- Storage: Assist with unloading, moving, and storing food goods, ensuring HACCP checks are done.
- Reporting: Report defects and maintenance needs promptly.
- Training: Update skills and knowledge through training programs.
- Safety: Adhere to safe working practices and instructions.
Person Specification
Knowledge Base:
- General catering health and safety.
- Basic food hygiene.
- Basic food allergen requirements (desirable).
- Child protection issues (desirable).
Experience:
- Experience in food preparation in a commercial/education environment (desirable).
