Horizon Teachers is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join a welcoming school in Tower Hamlets. The role involves supporting kitchen staff and ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and food safety within the kitchen environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with food prep, including making sandwiches, cooking vegetables, and replenishing chiller cabinets.
  • Serve food, maintain food presentation, and ensure portion control.
  • Assist customers politely and be aware of menu items and pricing.
Deliveries & Stock
  • Help receive, store, and label food deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Assist with stock taking and alert managers about shortages or spoiled produce.
Hygiene & Cleaning
  • Wash and clean during and after food preparation and service.
  • Maintain hygiene standards, check food temperatures, and clean equipment/surfaces regularly.
Health & Safety
  • Follow school health and safety policies, wear appropriate uniform, and operate machinery after training.
