- BSc degree (or equivalent) in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
- Previous experience with working on problems related natural hazards.
- 1-2 years of experience in the insurance or financial industry, or further related academic experience.
- Proficiency in Python or R.
- Proficiency in using GitHub for version control and collaboration.Â
- Proficiency in geospatial mapping (e.g. QGIS).
- Inquisitive, adaptable and able to work independently.
- Excellent communications skills (both verbally and written).
- The ability to break down a project and develop code to solve complicated problems without a known solution.
- Previous experience working in an insurance or financial services environment.
- Strong data analytics and quantitative skills.
- An appreciation of how to apply statistical methods to real data (e.g. data cleaning, correlation analysis, Monte Carlo modelling).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
