Data Analyst

A great role for a Data Analyst to join an International Insurance firm based int eh City of London in their Internal Audit team.

The Internal Audit teams are responsible for delivering comprehensive evaluations of risk management, control, and governance processes within the insurance industry. The company focus on ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies, while identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending strategic improvements.

This role is ideal for an energetic individual who is passionate about technology, analytics, digital innovation, and is also dedicated to providing support to a global department.

THE ROLE

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical support for Internal Audit workflow and management tools, along with delivering data analytics reporting. Specific responsibilities include:

Support of Internal Audit Tools and Applications:

  • Provide technical support for key applications such as TeamMate, SharePoint, Shared Drives, Asana, Grammarly, Articulate, and Tempus.
  • Manage ongoing enhancements and the rollout of audit tools and applications.
  • Oversee access management, including recertifications and verification processes.
  • Deliver technical support for the annual and quarterly Audit Risk Assessment and Audit Plan processes.
  • Conduct research and deployment of new tools.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing to ensure system resilience.

Data Analytics Responsibilities:

  • Execute analytics and reporting projects, under supervision, including requirements gathering, development, validation, and interpretation of results.
  • Collaborate with auditors and other stakeholders to identify new opportunities for analytics and visualizations, specifically those that would benefit from being developed into automated and repeatable solutions.
  • Communication with Data Analytics team members and their managers to ensure alignment and support.
  • Develop and expand Data Analytics capabilities and skills.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proficiency in TeamMate or a similar audit workpaper tool.
  • Demonstrated skills with data analytics tools and techniques, such as SQL Server, Alteryx, Python, among others.
  • Experience in data visualization using Power BI or comparable technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to independently initiate and manage projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous but not required.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-8 years of relevant experience in data analysis or a technical domain.
