Job Summary:
Our client (within the energy/ sustainability sector) is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Data Analyst to join their team. If you love diving into data, uncovering insights, and helping teams make smarter decisions, this role is for you.
You’ll work with large datasets, translate numbers into meaningful stories, and collaborate with various teams to enhance efficiency and performance. Your work will play a key role in shaping strategic decisions and driving real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather, process, and analyze data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Use analytics and visualization tools to identify trends, patterns, and key insights.
- Create user-friendly dashboards and automated reports to help stakeholders track key metrics.
- Apply predictive modeling to support better decision-making and optimize operations.
- Work closely with engineers and operational teams to turn data into actionable strategies.
- Ensure data quality through regular validation, cleaning, and structuring processes.
- Contribute to reporting efforts by aligning data analysis with regulatory and company objectives.
- Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to drive data-driven initiatives.
Person Specification
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, ideally within energy, sustainability, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with performance analysis, forecasting, and optimization.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB for data analysis.
- Experience with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems and data management software.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Understanding of performance metrics and optimization techniques.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication—able to explain complex data in a clear and compelling way.
- Great attention to detail and accuracy in data work.
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in energy project management or system optimization.
- Knowledge of compliance, sustainability, and industry standards.
- Relevant certifications in data analysis or analytics are a plus.
Please note - this role is outside of IR35 contract role. Likely for 8 months. The successful candidate will need to register as a PSC company with companies house and be responsible for deducting their own Tax and NI to HMRC.
