Permanent Position Required: Senior Data Scientists (x2)
A leading UK organisation is seeking two experienced Data Scientists to join their London-based analytics team, focusing on healthcare data and insights.
Location: Canary Wharf, London - Hybrid & Flexible working on offer
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Fantastic Benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (Flexible working available)
The Data Scientists will:
- Develop and implement complex statistical and machine learning models
- Analyze large healthcare datasets to deliver actionable insights
- Create predictive models for value prediction and risk analysis
- Contribute to model testing and development activities
- Research and develop new analytical methodologies
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand complex problems
- Communicate findings to senior management and external partners
- Support cloud infrastructure planning and implementation
- Contribute to internal/external publications and research
- Aid in training and development of the wider analytics team
Required for Both Positions:
- Degree level education in relevant field (Masters desirable)
- Advanced Python programming expertise
- Significant experience in data science/machine learning
- End-to-endMLlifecycle experience including:
- Data preprocessing and feature engineering
- Model selection, training, and tuning
- Model evaluation and deployment
- Production monitoring and maintenance
- Experience with Azure cloud platform and Azure ML services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex concepts
- Ability to manage multiple workflows and meet tight deadlines
Additionally, they require at least one candidate to have expertise in each of:
- Natural Language Processing & LLMs:
- Experience with model pre-training and fine-tuning (single/multi-task)
- Knowledge of LoRA, PEFT, RAG, and RLHF
- Experience with multiple LLM frameworks (e.g., Llama, Claude, OpenAI)
- Ability to work with large text corpora (>512 tokens, >10M documents)
- Advanced Statistical Analysis:
- Deep knowledge of sampling and data distributions
- Experience with data transformations and normalisation
- Expertise in parametric/non-parametric regressions
- Statistical inference and hypothesis testing
- Causal inference methods
- Practical experience with mixed models (FEM, GLM, GLMM)
