Are you an experienced Analytics Engineer with exceptional data modelling skills? Are you passionate about building efficient data pipelines and enhancing data models to support downstream users? If so, our client, a renowned Central Government organisation, is looking for someone like you to join their Data Modelling and Engineering team in London.

As a Lead Analytics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining data pipelines from operational prison and probation services to their Analytical Platform. You will be responsible for creating dimensional models that provide valuable insights to analysts, performance teams, and data scientists. By streamlining these processes, you will help reduce dependence on manual legacy systems and contribute to greater efficiency within the organisation.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of talented analytics engineers and guide them in applying best practises. You will also engage with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure that data documentation aligns with user needs. Furthermore, you will have the chance to work with new technologies and data sources to develop a comprehensive data model that reflects evolving business processes.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Excellent SQL and jinja skills
  • Proficiency in using dbt, including implementing best practises
  • Experience leading and enabling a team of analytics engineers
  • Strong background in developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Ability to engage and maintain relationships with business stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the latest developments in analytics engineering
  • Programming experience in Python
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS)
  • Familiarity with Dashboard development
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows
