SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST

A leading FinTech, recognised as one of the UK's fastest-growing and most profitable, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an award-winning, data-driven company that is rapidly expanding. With a strong focus on machine learning-driven credit risk models, this role offers hands-on exposure to cutting-edge techniques in an innovative, fast-paced environment.

THE COMPANY

THE ROLE

You will work on high-impact projects, collaborating closely with leadership. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing credit risk predictive models, including scorecards and pricing models.
  • Enhancing existing model suites
  • Deploying and monitoring models, ensuring end-to-end implementation
  • Conducting deep-dive analysis into lending trends, driving business insights
  • Working in a fast-moving FinTech environment, where independence and ownership are highly valued

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 years' experience in Data Science, with a focus on scorecard modelling
  • Strong Python & SQL skills, with solid ML modelling experience
  • Background in credit/lending - understanding how decisioning models impact the business
  • Experience in FinTech preferred (not banking)
  • STEM degree from a Russell Group university - strong academic background required
  • Ability to work independently and own projects from start to finish
