My client is a leading multidisciplinary property consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Town Planner (Chartered) to join a dynamic London team. This role offers the opportunity to work on prestigious projects across the capital and beyond, contributing to a wide range of planning and development initiatives.

The London office is at the heart of the city's vibrant real estate sector, where they work with a diverse portfolio of clients, including developers, investors, landowners, and public sector bodies.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing and delivering complex planning projects. Your expertise will be essential in guiding clients through the planning process, from initial site appraisal to securing permissions and handling appeals. You will work closely within the multidisciplinary teams, including property and development experts, to provide comprehensive planning advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the preparation and submission of planning applications for a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
  • Conduct detailed site appraisals and feasibility studies to inform client strategies.
  • Manage and coordinate consultant teams, ensuring timely and effective delivery of projects.
  • Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and the public to navigate the planning process.
  • Advise on and prepare planning appeals, including representation at hearings and inquiries.
  • Keep up-to-date with planning policy changes and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the planning team.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Chartered Membership of the RTPI is essential.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in town planning, preferably within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing planning applications and appeals for significant projects.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system, particularly in the London context.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
