The company

My client is an Independent Planning Consultancy lead by three partners that deliver consultancy advice to a wide range of clients across the UK. The team works across different sectors including residential, student accommodation, hotels, serviced apartments, retail, leisure, office, industrial, logistics and self-storage!

The role

The successful candidate will assist the team in providing strategic planning advice from pre-acquisition to site completion, as well as advise on asset management enhancement opportunities. Some of the duties of this role will include assisting on the following:

  • Planning applications.
  • Planning appeals including Hearings and Public Inquiries.
  • Prior Approval applications.
  • Planning appraisals for site acquisition and disposal.
  • Pre-application engagement.
  • Enforcement advice and appeals.
  • Retail & Leisure Impact Assessments.
  • Planning policy representations and site promotion.
  • Sequential Assessments for leisure, retail, and flood risk.
  • S106 and affordable housing negotiations.
  • Expert Witness.

Candidate requirements

  • RTPI accredited degree in Planning or related field of study.
  • A-Level and GCSE grades at A*-B grade.
  • Previous experience in public or private sector planning advantageous, but not essential.
  • Ability to work from own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
