Graduate Assistant / Planner - Start Your Planning Career!

Are you a recent graduate from an RTPI-accredited course, ready to start your career in planning? Ambitious, curious, and passionate about shaping the UK's future built environment? This role could be for you.

A leading consultancy with offices in Bournemouth, Birmingham, London, and Bristol is looking for Graduate Planners to join their growing team from summer 2025 onwards. With over 40 years of experience, they deliver projects ranging from housing and renewable energy to commercial and infrastructure developments - all while working towards a carbon zero target by 2030.

What They're Looking For:
  • Studying or recently completed an RTPI-accredited planning course

  • Aiming for or working towards RTPI membership

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Friendly, proactive, and problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

  • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship

The Role:

You'll support experienced planners with:

  • Research, site appraisals and planning policy reviews

  • Preparing planning applications and supporting documents

  • Drafting policy representations

  • Assisting with public exhibitions and stakeholder engagement

  • Coordinating with clients, consultants and local authorities

  • Tracking planning consultations and updates
