An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Lead Planning Engineer with a mechanical and electrical background to join a leading main contractor based in Central London.
The Lead Planning Engineer will join a major name in the UK construction industry who work across a robust portfolio of projects covering a wide range of build sectors. They are looking to expand their highly experienced team with a Lead Planning Engineer with M&E expertise.
As the in-house M&E planning specialist you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of M&E aspects within large-scale construction projects.

Duties
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, integrating M&E activities with overall construction timelines.
- Work closely with M&E design and construction teams to ensure accurate planning and execution of all M&E works.
- Track project progress against key milestones, identifying and addressing any potential delays or issues.
- Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key achievements and areas of concern.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes and methodologies within the company.
Candidate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning within the construction industry, with a strong focus on M&E works.
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification
- Proficient in planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project). Strong understanding of M&E systems and their integration into construction projects.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor junior planning engineers and other project team members.
