We are seeking an experienced Policy Town Planner to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an innovative, fast-paced environment, influencing key urban planning and policy decisions that shape the future of the city.

As a Policy Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting planning policy development, strategic planning, and regeneration projects across the region. You will work closely with local authorities, developers, and other stakeholders to create sustainable, inclusive, and well-designed urban spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of planning policies that align with long-term urban growth strategies.
  • Provide expert advice on planning policy, land use, and sustainability to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse planning data and research to inform policy decisions and urban planning strategies.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including local authorities, developers, and community groups to ensure policies reflect diverse needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, briefs, and recommendations for key planning proposals and projects.
  • Ensure planning proposals comply with relevant legislation, local plans, and national guidelines.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards it.
  • Proven experience in policy development, urban planning, or strategic planning roles.
  • Strong knowledge of current planning legislation, national planning policy, and local government processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply planning data effectively.

Desirable:

  • Experience with regeneration and development projects in urban areas.
  • Knowledge of sustainable development practices and environmental impact assessments.
