About the Role:

In this Senior Town Planner position, you will have the chance to work on a variety of high-profile projects, providing expert planning advice to clients across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading planning applications and projects from inception through to approval.
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and local policies.
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of the team, fostering their development.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including local authorities, clients, and consultants, to achieve successful planning outcomes.
  • Preparing planning applications, appeals, and planning statements.
  • Representing clients at planning meetings and public inquiries.
About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline, and ideally a membership with the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute).
  • A proven track record in town planning, ideally within the private sector, with experience of managing large and complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading junior team members.
  • A good understanding of planning legislation and policy, both at a national and local level.
  • Knowledge of London or Nottingham's planning landscape would be a distinct advantage.
