We are currently representing a leading consultancy firm looking to expand their team with a Senior Urban Designer in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a deep understanding of urban design principles and the ability to take projects from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead urban design projects across a variety of sectors including residential, mixed-use, and public realm.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop design strategies that address complex urban challenges.
  • Deliver high-quality design solutions that contribute to creating sustainable and vibrant environments.
  • Manage and mentor a team of junior designers, providing guidance and support on design development.
  • Prepare and present design proposals to clients, planning authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and environmental specialists.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) working in urban design, with a proven track record in delivering successful projects.
  • Strong design and visualisation skills, with experience using software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or similar.
  • A good understanding of planning policy and regulations in the UK.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with both clients and stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving and design development.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
