Senior Town Planner or Associate Town Planner

Location: London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading planning consultancy based in the heart of London, specialising in urban and rural development, property advice, and infrastructure projects. We are seeking a talented Senior Town Planner or Associate Town Planner to join a dynamic team and contribute to a variety of high-profile planning projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of planning projects, including Energy, Infrastructure, Industrial, Leisure, Retail, Education, Offices and residential.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and other planning documentation.
  • Provide expert planning advice to clients, ensuring the delivery of successful outcomes for development projects.
  • Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities to facilitate consultation processes.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant planning legislation and policy changes.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and fostering client relationships.
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the planning team.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in town planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited).
  • Membership or eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Relevant experience in the Private Sector
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system, policy frameworks, and development processes.
  • Proven track record of managing planning projects, from inception to approval.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
