A growing communications and public affairs agency in London is looking for a mid-weight designer who can lead their creative output. As the sole designer in the agency, you will take ownership of the entire design process, from concept to final execution. You will be responsible for delivering creative, innovative, and visually engaging design solutions across campaigns aimed at patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers and the general public. You will work alongside the wider team, directly with clients and with the COO.

The agency has a diverse range of clients, from pharmaceutical companies, consumer health organisations, pharmacy, professional organisations, social enterprises, tech platforms, patient organisations, med tech and diagnostics companies, to film distributors.

The mid-weight designer’s job:

  • Full Design Oversight: Take charge of the entire design process across diverse projects, including digital content, print materials, branding, infographics, websites, presentations, and social media assets.
  • Collaboration with Teams and Clients: Partner with internal teams and occasionally liaise directly with clients to fully understand briefs and deliver impactful, audience-focused design solutions.
  • Brand Development & Consistency: Create and uphold strong brand identities for the agency and its clients
  • Creative Stewardship: Refine and evolve the agency’s visual identity, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints, and lead the design process for new business presentations.
  • Creative Leadership: Act as the sole designer, steering creative direction, introducing fresh concepts, and managing end-to-end design processes, including presenting work directly to clients.
  • Problem Solving: Apply creative thinking to tackle communication challenges within the challenging health sector, presenting complex information in a clear and visually engaging way.

Requirements:

  • Significant design experience in targeting a wide range of audiences, ideally within healthcare
  • A strong creative portfolio
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, XD) and Canva.
  • Experience in both digital and print design
  • Knowledge of healthcare communications is a plus
