Maylim Landscapes are an award winning 'Architect design led' company - we are looking for a passionate and motivated Plantsperson with a professional and passionate approach to the Commercial Landscape Industry. The successful candidate will be an expert in horticulture with extensive knowledge of plant & tree species, a deep understanding of botany, and hands-on experience with plant care techniques.
Our projects are all within the very highest-end of landscaping design across London. We operate across public realm, roof terraces, public parks, residential buildings, commercial and governeent spaces.
We are growing our soft landscaping division and are looking to expand our team structure and skill base.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, with a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. This role involves being the soft landscape liaison between Landscape Architects, clients and Maylim, ensuring high-quality service delivery and fostering a culture of teamwork.
Key Accountabilities
- Work closely with Landscape Architects throughout the soft landscape delivery process.
- Identify and source a wide variety of plants, including rare and exotic species, that are appropriate for the schemes’ environment and design intent. Liaise with Landscape Architects to find the best solution to fulfil their vision.
- Schedule and lead Tree Tagging and nursery visits to ensure the best stock is selected for our schemes across the UK and Europe
- On site management of plant holding and husbandry
- Setting out of material & benchmarking
- Quality control
- Managing pre-PC/Construction maintenance teams
- Train and mentor landscape installation and maintenance staff, passing on horticultural knowledge, key experiences and site-specific considerations.
- Liaise with Maintenance teams on specific issues they encounter and provide specialist horticultural advice.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge / Technical:
- Professional qualification in horticulture - NVQ Level 3 minimum
- Hands-on experience in horticulture
- CSCS card
- Ability to work full-time and travel across London
Behavioural Skills:
- Working as ‘one team’ across multiple different project sites each week to deliver exceptional results.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- A self-starter who is organized and proactive without a need to be managed closely.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to plan visits to several sites every week.

Previous Experience:
- 5 years+ experience in the following: Horticulturalist, Nurseryman, Landscape Architecture
- Sufficient experience desired working within the construction industry.
