An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Corporate Solicitor to join a leading Top 50 national firm’s Corporate team in London. This role provides a dynamic and varied workload, offering exposure to a range of corporate matters including M&A, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital, fundraising, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, and general corporate advisory work.As part of a growing and highly regarded team, the successful candidate will have the chance to work on high-profile transactions for a diverse client base, from start-ups and spinouts to established corporations, management teams, and institutions. The role includes significant international elements, ensuring a broad and varied experience.About the RoleThe firm is seeking a Corporate Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally gained in a City, national, or leading regional firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transactional work and a proven ability to manage transactions with minimal supervision while working collaboratively with senior colleagues. An entrepreneurial mindset, along with a drive to help grow the team and the practice, is key to success in this role.The ideal candidate should also have:
  • Solid experience in M&A transactions.
  • Exposure to investment rounds, venture capital funds, and VC-backed businesses (desirable but not essential).
  • The ability to manage and run transactions independently, with appropriate senior support.
  • A proactive approach to business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Strong technical skills, with excellent drafting, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Effective time and organisational management skills.
  • An interest in technology and life sciences sectors (desirable).
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead M&A, venture capital, and other corporate transactions under the supervision of a partner or principal associate. Draft key transactional documents and coordinate with junior team members and other departments involved in the deal.
  • Actively engage in business development efforts to expand networks and contribute to the firm’s overall growth. Participate in networking and marketing activities to help shape the future direction of the practice.
