Role Overview:

A public sector legal team is seeking a specialist Employment Lawyer to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling employment law matters, particularly within a Local Government or public sector setting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging and varied legal matters as part of a supportive and growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management: Handle a wide range of employment law cases, including tribunal claims, disciplinary matters, and grievance cases.
  2. Representation: Represent the organization at court and tribunals as required.
  3. Client Engagement: Provide expert legal advice, including in-person meetings with clients when necessary.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with a legal team comprising experienced lawyers and a principal solicitor who manage property, planning, and employment law matters.

Essential Requirements:

Qualification: Qualified legal professional (Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive).

Experience: At least 5 years PQE of employment law work, with a strong preference for Local Government or public sector experience.

Skills: Proven ability to manage a caseload and represent at tribunals and hearings. Solid understanding of employment law in a public sector context, with practical problem-solving skills.

Additional Information:

-          This role offers flexible working arrangements, with minimal in-office presence required beyond initial training or occasional team meetings.

-          In-person meetings with clients will only be required on an as-needed basis.
