Our client, a leading London law firm is looking to hire a Financial Services Associate/Senior Associate on a 12 month assignment. The role is to start ASAP and will run for an initial duration of 12 months. 2-3 days per week in the London office is required.
The Financial Services team acts for a range of financial services clients including challenger banks, insurers, investment firms, credit unions, payment services and e-money firms. Clients can include early stage start up, scale ups through to UK unicorns within the sector.
The successful individual will work closely with a Partner on all consumer finance, e-money, payments and retail financial services matters. This could involve drafting customer facing terms and conditions, advising on regulatory perimeters, product structuring and a range of regulatory queries.
The successful individual will likely:
- Be a qualified Lawyer
- Possess upwards of 5 years' PQE in working in private practice or in house
- Have experience in advising payment and e-money firms, consumer credit firms, banks and fintechs
- Possess a good working knowledge of the FCA / PRA Handbook; Financial Services and Markets Act; the Regulated Activities Order; Payment Services/E Money Regulations and/or consumer finance regimes such as the Consumer Credit Act, CONC or MCOB
- Hold good financial services regulatory knowledge having worked on complex advisory regulatory matters
- Have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be interested in joining a well-regarded team on a contract for 12 months
- Be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Have strong interpersonal skills
The role follows a hybrid working model, requiring approximately two to three days per week in the London office.
