We are working with a unique organisation at the heart of the London insurance market, specialising in the reinsurance of terrorism risk. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially focused Lawyer to join a small but highly impactful in-house legal team in a varied and engaging role.The Role:This In-House Counsel position offers an incredibly broad scope, covering all legal matters that impact the business. No prior insurance experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to step into a fascinating sector with exposure to high-level discussions and strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts, including NDAs and supplier agreements.
  • Advising on intellectual property, data protection, and regulatory matters.
  • Engaging with Government bodies, including the Home Office and Treasury, on legislative and policy matters.
  • Providing strategic input on investments aimed at countering terrorist threats.
  • Liaising with international security agencies on risk mitigation, including projects such as the removal of radiological materials from hospitals.
About You:The ideal In-House Counsel will be a Lawyer who:
  • Has 2-4 years’ PQE, ideally with strong experience in commercial contracts.
  • Brings public sector experience, government advisory work, or familiarity with regulatory frameworks.
  • Possesses strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage with senior government and industry figures.
  • Has an interest in national security, public policy, and financial risk would be advantageous.
