LEGAL COUNSEL - INSURANCE - to £90000 plus bonusAn experienced lawyer is required to join a major insurance sector client working as in house counsel advising the underwriting teams on policy wordings and also working on more general commercial contract and legal issues for the company.Role OverviewThis In-House Counsel position providing specialist advice on coverage and policy wordings to the underwriting team at this major insurance client. You will join an existing team of experienced lawyers with the role having arisen due to growth of the business and recent team mergers.Candidate ProfileThe firm is seeking a qualified solicitor or barrister with the following experience/characteristics:
  • Minimum 4 years pqe with experience in policy wordings and coverage work either in-house or in private practice. Alternatively someone from a insurance claims background (non-injury) interested in developing in this area of work would be considered.
  • Team player who is able to work in a co-operative environment and engage effectively with others.
  • Previous experience in more general commercial contracts and in-house legal function would be an advantage. However, training will be given for those without this.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making ability with sound judgement and decision making.
  • Ability to provide commercially focused solutions to the business on a daily basis.
