The Investment Funds practice is integral to their business, advising a diverse range of clients, including institutional investors, fund managers, and corporates, on complex legal and regulatory issues.

Role Overview:

The client is seeking a skilled and experienced Investment Funds Lawyer to join their London team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile matters, develop long-term client relationships, and contribute to a thriving practice group. The successful candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the funds industry, a commercial mindset, and a proactive approach to legal problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory:

  • Advising on the establishment, structuring, and operation of investment funds, including private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and infrastructure funds.
  • Providing legal support on fund documentation, including LPAs, IMAs, and PPMs.

Regulatory Expertise:

  • Navigating complex regulatory frameworks, including FCA regulations, AIFMD, MiFID II, and ESG-related compliance.
  • Advising clients on licensing, compliance, and regulatory reporting obligations.

Transaction Support:

  • Assisting with fund-related transactions, including secondary transfers, fund formations, and fundraising activities.
  • Supporting clients in negotiating terms with investors and counterparties.

Client Engagement:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key clients, including institutional investors, fund managers, and financial institutions.
  • Delivering exceptional client service and acting as a trusted advisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: 3-5 Years PQE: In investment funds gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of fund structures, market practices, and relevant regulations in the UK and EU.
  • Analytical Ability: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply legal expertise to complex commercial scenarios.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and succinctly.
  • Client Focus: Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
