This council is seeking temporary, full-time (36 hours per week) cover within the legal team, for circa. 12 weeks. Start date ASAP!Your new roleA dedicated and experienced lawyer or Senior Lawyer, specialising in contracts, procurement and information. This role is integral to supporting the development of the public law services in collaboration with team leaders and Service Managers. Some key responsibilities include:路 To advise and conduct legal files on behalf of all the clients, including local authorities, housing associations and schools and to provide advice and representation.路 Undertake research as requested in relation to contracts, Procurement & Information matters.路 To attend meetings and courts which may take place outside of normal office hours and off site as required.路 To advise officers and members, including in public forums, in a proactive and politically sensitive manner.路 To give guidance, mentor and give training to less experienced team members.路 To deputise for senior lawyers as and when required.What you'll need to succeed路 Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with experience in public law.路 Public law experience gained either in private practice or in-house.路 Proven expertise in one or more relevant areas including but not restricted to: Contracts, Procurement & Information law.路 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.路 Ability to work collaboratively with team leaders, Service Managers, and other legal professionals.路 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.What you'll get in return路 An hourly rate of circa. 拢40+ per hour PAYE路 Hybrid working opportunities (1-2 office days per week)路 32 days of holiday entitlement路 Progress your public sector career in a collaborative and supportive team!What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
